Rescue Tape to the Rescue!!!

Posted in Product Updates, Travel Updates on May 29, 2012 by cjracer

Earlier this season we offered a Special Promo to our customers including a FREE roll of Rescue Tape on all qualifying orders to help spread the word of a NEW product we stock.  RESCUE TAPE INFO

Now that the riding season is under way we got our first report of this Product in ACTION to help save a ride.   Please enjoy the Report and Pictures below from Edward.

“Hi Craig,

Thank you for the roll of Rescue Tape!  It came in handy on Saturday morning.
This past weekend we did over 1000 miles offroad in some of the most desolate regions of the US in the far north west corner of Colorado and eastern Utah.
Some pics from where we were to give you an idea of the desolation:
At one point we were heading north on a two track 160 miles from the next fuel station (and 30 miles from the nearest road) when one of the guys on a Husqvarna TE610 had his right radiator tube split and start spraying radiator fluid in his face.
The split hose:
When we pulled the hose off.. it split even further (over an inch and looked like it wanted to keep going).  I cut off a 6 inch long piece of Rescue Tape and wrapped the hose like you would with electrical tape.. pulling and stretching the rescue tape as I went.
Reapplied the hose and the hose clamp and it was sealed.
400+ more miles off off road riding in the next two day without another drop leaked.
“Now that’s a happy rider!”
Cheers and thanks,
Safe travels Edward,  I sure miss those great views.
You can see more of Edward’s great pictures from this ride HERE.
If you want a Roll for your next Trip, please send an email.
We are heading to Canada next week on our own camping trip and you can be sure to find a few rolls in my bike…. just in case.

Spring 2012 Wisconsin Adventure Trail Ride is a Success

Posted in CJ Designs Events, General, Travel Updates on May 26, 2012 by cjracer

Wisconsin Adventure Trail Ride is a Success.

A group of 11 riders took off Wed May 16th for a 1400 mile loop around Wisconsin, all were back home safe, but sore Sunday night.

It’s all NORTH from here.

It was a very warm and dry ride this year.  Temps from 60-95F.

We wandered into Iowa, criss crossing “The Mighty Mississippi” a few times.

Enjoying some great two track that didn’t last long enough, but was well worth the ride to find it.

Running short of daylight, we made a bee-line to Black River Falls.   Very happy to find “108” on our route north.

What a fun road, even on Dirt tires.   Arrived in BR Falls in time for dinner and a few beers.   What a great first day.

Clark County Trails.

And we’re on our way. Ready to Roll!

Finished the KTM 950 SE up Tues.  Ready to hit the road.

CJ Designs rear 950 SE Fuel tank – in testing.

Should be a great ride.  We have 11 riders this year and our loop figures out to be around 1400 miles in 5 days.

Safe travels,

Only a few days left!

It’s been a busy weekend.  Bike is coming together very well.  Lots of trick new ideas/products and gear that I have to test out and get some miles on. 😉  The TWAT ride is a great ride for that.

First test ride today.  It felt so good to be back on the 950 SE.   What a FUN bike!!

Finishing up some last minute things on Monday.

GPS Tracks next on the list.    What good are tracks with no bike to ride???

We leave Wed morning-8am.  Follow my SPOT tracker link to see where we are on our treck.

CJ Designs will be closed May 14- 23rd.   Please contact Dual Sport Warehouse for any product support and order needs while we head to the North woods for the some spring product testing.

Thanks for your support,

Last few days to get bikes together!!!

Posted in Travel Updates on May 11, 2012 by cjracer

We leave in 6 days for the Spring TWAT ride.  Last weekend to finish up and get your bike ready.

Last minute changes on my end has me prepping a new bike.   Fun, but time-consuming.    Last parts should be here Sat.  Might get a test ride in Sun or Mon.

Progress so far-

KTM 950 SE on left / KTM 950 AWD ADV on right.

I’ll add more info on what products I’ve chosen to add and pics once I’m complete.
